Petra Mantovani (Manager Dog Boutique)
I was born in Frauenfeld, the daughter of a Swiss mother and a German father, very early on we moved to Küsnacht on Lake Zurich. There I spent my entire childhood, school years, and adolescence.
Like Roberto, I have always been very fond of fashion, and I completed my training in retail sales at Modissa fashion shop in Zurich. After that, I completed a course of training in Color and Fashion Consulting. In the years following that, I worked in various well-known fashion houses as well as in smaller boutiques in Zurich.
In 1986, I married my first husband, Reto Bärlocher, and adopted two girls from India in 1992 and 1995. In my spare time, I volunteered for various children's projects: Chinderhüeti, head of the Domino group, head of the Kolibri group, and member of the Child and Family Commission of the Protestant Church Parish of Küsnacht. In 2007 my husband and I divorced.
In 2008 I met Roberto and worked with him in his bikini boutique on Kirchgasse in Zurich, and then on Limmatquai, after he moved his business in 2010. After the sale of the boutique in 2011, we jointly founded Doggy-Care dog care service in Rümlang, and shortly afterwards our female Golden Retriever, Ashuna, came into my life, and, (with tongue in cheek and no pun intended) my life "went to the dogs".
In 2011 Roberto and I got married and two years later we moved into our new home at Lägernstrasse 5 in Rümlang. Through massive diet-related problems experienced by our own dog, Ashuna, as well as many other dogs at Doggy-Care - the cause of which was the dry food - the "BARF" (Biologically Appropriate Raw Food) diet was brought to our attention. This area has greatly aroused my interest and I have delved deeply into the study of Barf nutrition. In 2017 I completed a course of training with veterinarian Dr. Jutta Ziegler, as Nutrition Consultant specializing in Barf diet.
With the restructuring and evolution of Doggy-Care into Ashuna's Dog Company GmbH, in 2017 I took over as head of the dog boutique, and Roberto supports me energetically in that endeavor. At the end of March 2017, I was able to fulfill a wish of having my "own" dog, we got another family member through "Chachaba" (Tschtschaba), a female chihuahua.
Whenever the short moments of free time allow, I join Roberto on trips, and regularly take part in mantrailing (the scent-specific pursuit of one individual's scent) courses with our two dogs, Ashuna and Chachaba.
